Lists can be really fun and this one was fun and effective to write. The cool thing about these tips were they aren’t rehash of everyone elses tips. A lot of these tips are things you either haven’t seen before or are contrary to what you have heard before. Jump in…
1. Have Protein With Every Meal
Thermogenesis is the temporary increase in metabolic rate due to the energy body must expend in order to digest protein. If you get good lean sources of protein (sorry, not fried chicken) you can possibly burn up to 25%+ through digestion alone.

2. Workout Less
WHAT? Most people don’t workout hard enough. When it comes to workouts it’s about quality (and intensity) not quantity. In fact, our Weight Loss Plateau Buster Program has individuals working out 4 hours a week and getting getter results than you can ever imagine. Too many people go into the gym, socialize, go through the motions and think staying in there for 2 hours and going through the motions is going to get results. The truth be told you will get significantly better results by pushing yourself just a little harder over a 45-60 minute period with very little rest period between exercises. Doing your workouts in this manner will also give you a greater caloric “afterburn” following the workout.

3. Eat More
Too many people want to starve themselves skinny. This can completely tank the metabolism and send your body into starvation and preservation mode. Things like the HCG diet and other doctor monitored plans starve both the muscle and fat off of your body. In the end, it leaves your poor body with less metabolically active tissue (muscle) and your metabolism in the tank. As you put the calories back into your body you will gain most of the fat back.
*Note: this doesn’t include intermittent fasting we will talk about in coming weeks


4. Go On A 30 Day Sugar Detox
This includes things like high fructose corn syrup, sugar, sucrose, fructose and the like. I’ve managed to completely eliminate drastic cravings (personally and in others) and helped several people break free of the chains of sugar. The cool thing is they lose weight in the process! Your body becomes addicted to the feelings from sugar. If you can steer clear of it for a short period of time you can significantly reduce those cravings. This is by no means a treatment perscription and i’m not a doctor, but those extra calories that you consume through sugar add up, really mess with your insulin sensitivity and pack on the belly and love handle fat.

What you do after 30 days is completely up to you. For the time being take a 30 day challenge and focus on your physical goals. This one little tip with focus can have such a dramatic impact in your life isn’t it worth it to push forward with this strategy for 30 days just on the promise of what it could do?

5. Find Alternatives To The Bad Foods You Eat
If you have been following this blog or working in one of my programs you know I encourage strategic MOOing (meal of opportunity). One way people can feel a lot better about eating the food they want is to find healthy alternatives that have a fraction of the calories. Doing things like making your own pizza or chicken tenders with healthy ingredients can have a significant impact on your calorie intake.


My buddy Dave Ruel has an amazing cookbook with a lot of these alternatives. You will be eating these meals wondering if eating healthy can be taste this good while still dropping the weight at an alarming rate.

6. Take Action!
My fave quote is “the definition of stupidity is knowing what to do and not doing it – Zach Marcy”. Please implement these 6 tips into your program TODAY! They are simple to make as adjustments and your weight loss plateau will be GONE in about 1-2 weeks time (maybe even in a couple of days).
