Diet Plateau: What Diets Must Have To Work (Part 2)
Welcome to my 3 part series on Diet Plateaus. Diet plateaus are a real thing and they are frustrating. They happen for a number of reasons and this series of blog posts will tell you Why you diet plateau (part 1), What diets must have in order to work (part 2) and How to never diet plateau again (part 3).
Are you ready for the 2nd installment or do you want to stay stuck in a diet plateau? I’ve got an interview that sheds light on this entire subject. I alluded to Dave Ruel and his amazing theories in our first installment. Today we have an interview with the man, the myth, the metabolic chef Dave Ruel himself.
Zach Marcy (ZM) Dave Ruel, Diet Guru to metabolic enhancement and anti-diet plateau nutrition. Can you give a quick intro of who you are?
Dave Ruel (DR) Hey Zach! Well I’ve been helping people for year fixing their boring diets. I am a firm believer that eating healthy to support your body goals DOES NOT have to be plain and boring. I’ve seen fitness enthusiasts go the usual route of steamed chicken, baked potatoes, and broccoli for every meal and I’ve had the opportunity to teach them that there is a ‘better way’. I have a large background in helping others achieve their goals, be it fat loss or muscle building and am always learning new and innovative techniques to use in the kitchen.
ZM: You have worked with a variety of people through the years. What
makes you qualified to talk about diet plateaus and metabolic enhancement through nutrition?
DR: Over the past years I have helped a lot of people getting incredible results. I have been helping bodybuilders get shredded for bodybuilding shows, fitness models get ready for photoshoots and regular fitness enthusiastss transform their physiques! I guess results speak for themselves
ZM: Okay, now that everyone knows what I know about your dietary genius, let’s talk tips and tricks to help my readers. In my blog post a few days ago I talked a little bit about the Metabolic Adaptation Phenomenon?
DR: The Metabolic Adaptation Phenomenon is a weird thing… It occurs at the point on your diet plan where you body clearly knows precisely what it’s getting in terms of food intake and has fully adapted to that. When it reaches this state, that’s when
fat loss comes to a screeching halt. The Metabolic Adaptation Phenomenon is a frustrating time for any dieter because this is the point where the body has fully adapted to thefood intake you’re feeding it and slows the metabolism down to match it. When the metabolism slows down, now you’ll be burning off just as many calories as you consumed through the diet, hence fat loss will come to a halt. In order to get around the Metabolic Adaptation Phenomenon, you’ll have to vary your nutrient intakes regularly, shocking the body as time goes on. This keeps it guessing as to what’s coming next and ensures your metabolism stays on high at all times.
ZM: One of the main reasons I love your current program, Metabolic Cooking (Click Here!) is because you preach including a persons activity levels when determining setting your calories. What is it about this approach that keeps people in the metabolically active zone and prevents diet plateaus?
DR: It’s simple, if your calorie intake doesn’t fit your activity level 2 things will happen:
1. If you eat too many calories for your activity level, you will gain body fat, just common sense.
2. If you don’t consume enough calories for your activity level, you will slow down your metabolism. Thisis a common mistake in the dieting world and that’s a big reason people plateau!
ZM: So, healthy eating is tasteless and bland eating, right (note the
HEAVY dose of sarcasm being laid on very thick)?
DR: Zach, dude! Come on!
Seriously, I am strong believer that bodybuilding and fitness nutrition DOESN’T have to be plain and boring and only composed of boiled chicken breasts, baked potatoes and broccoli… without spending more time in the
kitchen that you normally do, you can have meals that are full of flavors and that
make it easier to reach your fitness goals… That’s why I dedicated most of my life to creating tasty recipes
ZM: So if you could have a clientdo 3 things to crush a diet plateau (if
I was a betting man these 3 things are already in the Metabolic Cooking Program (Click Here!))), what would those 3 things be?
DR: 1. Eat food with a high Metabolic Thermo Charge
2. Beat the Metabolic Adaptation Phenomenon
3. Don’t overcomplicate things! Keep it simple and tasty!
ZM: You’ve been a rock star doing this interview, big Dave. Do you have
any parting shots?
DR: Stay hungry my friends
Outro:
You know, I really don’t pitch much to my list. I’ve sold you guys my own Weight Loss Plateau Busters Program over the 10 months we have had this blog up and that is it. Since i’m so strict as to what I pitch to you guys I want you to take this serious, Dave’s program is that good. Even if you are a Synergize client in my studios, the recipies alone are worth the price of this program. It’s so easy to follow, but it even makes the way you eat tasty and more effective!
See you guys next time when I hit up Part 3. I am thinking I will have it out by the end of the week. I hope you guys want to fix your diets. I have some serious power packed stuff for your next installment. It has a lot of content and even some tips from both the Synergize Meal Plan and the Metabolic Cooking plan.
